FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a charter school?
A charter school is a public school that operates under on-site management. It is independent of a school district's control, and is governed by a board of directors.  It receives its sanction, or charter, from a public authority. In Michigan, charters are granted through state universities, junior colleges, intermediate or local school boards. Conner Creek Academy East received its charter from Ferris State University in Big Rapids Michigan in 1999.

Is there tuition?
Tuition is free. Similar to traditional public schools, we receive our funding from the state on a per pupil basis.

Are the teachers certified?
Yes. We are governed by the same requirements as a traditional public school.
